When the word emergency is used I think of vulnerability, humility, unpredictability, and most importantly urgency. As I decided on my career path I first took an introspect at my life and how I have been guided to my purpose of the healthcare field of nursing. I have always wanted to assist people at their most vulnerable time and that is done daily through the medical field. To prepare for any unpredictable situation requires proper planning. I will always be a lifelong learner and advance my life saving skills and techniques through continued education and utilizing those more experienced health professionals as mentors. Each emergency situation is unique and has different outcomes that can have lasting impacts. I’m a strong believer in mental health and the importance of releasing those highs and lows of life to ensure you have room to give and receive love and care from others and to others (you can’t pour from an empty cup).
