I am Carinthia Harris, a college senior currently at Chamberlain College of Nursing in Atlanta, Georgia. It is my desire and my passion to become an extraordinary, registered nurse. I am determined to be the best nurse I can be. I want to be a person of assurance for the patients, to be confident in my skills and have the ability to help the patients, and most importantly, to be the patient’s advocate and champion for their health and well-being during a time when they cannot do it for themselves. I firmly believe it is the nurse, who has to be 100% committed and who has empathy and compassion, that makes the best nurse and can make the most dramatic difference in a patient’s life when they are most vulnerable. It is my passion, dream, and goal, to be that nurse a patient can truly rely on and I plan to do my best to deliver my medical skills and knowledge and to stay on top of every possible medical option. Becoming a nurse for me is simply not a job or career choice for me, I truly believe that it is my calling. I want to be that nurse that smiles daily and brightens up the patient’s day, even if it’s just for a moment, to be there for someone who is going through a life crisis. It will be my smile that can carry a patient over and aid in their overall healing process. I truly believe that being a nurse will entail not only a patient’s physical needs, but their human needs, and a nurse should have compassion, empathy, and total respect for each and every one of her patients. This describes me so well. Any and all scholarships and financial aid are much needed and would be extraordinarily appreciated.
