12-Lead Interpretation Course for EMS

Are you willing to put your patient’s life in the hands of a wireless network connection? A paramedic should have the skills to interpret the 12 Lead ECG. It is not uncommon for the transmission of an ECG to fail and the medic who is not trained in interpretation must rely on the efficacy of machine interpretation (not a great option) or to wait until arrival at the hospital for the Emergency Department physician to make the diagnosis. Our online 12 Lead Interpretation Course can remove the mystery of the 12 Lead ECG and make it possible for the paramedic to quickly and efficiently recognize potentially life threatening issues such as acute myocardial infarction or myocardial ischemia.

The treatment of myocardial infarction can differ substantially depending upon what part of the heart muscle is involved. EMS can tailor their treatment regimen better to the patient’s needs if the medic is capable of interpreting the ECG.

Our online course will emphasis the information needed from an ECG to improve the treatment of the patient in the prehospital setting. Recognition of infarction and localization of infarction will be emphasized. The information is presented in a simple, straightforward method that does not introduce information that is of no value in the prehospital setting. It is written as a fast, concise course. Following completion of our course, the paramedic will be able to recognize the ECG changes consistent with myocardial infarction, diagnose the location of infarction and recognize left and right bundle branch blocks. Allow us to remove the mystery from the prehospital 12 Lead ECG.

Course format

This course is offered in in-person group format and online format. All our instructors hold current and valid PALS instructor credentials from the American Heart Association and they are registered paramadics.
