Pacific Medical Training (“us”, “we”) provides this document to explain our data privacy and information security practices.

Your privacy is important to us and having access to your private information is a liability for us. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

Information we collect

The website pacificmedicalacls.com includes pages where you can order products, make requests, and register to receive materials. Following are the types of information we collect:

• Order information — name, company, email, shipping address, phone number, password
  • Why? We use this to fulfill your order. Also we use this to send services notifications (e.g. “your order shipped”) to you and inform you if your product/certification is about to expire.
• Payment information — credit/debit card number, associated billing information
  • Why? We use this to collect money from you. Money is helpful for running our business.
• Professional information — course expiration dates, continuing education surveys
  • Why? Our accreditation partners (e.g. American Medical Association) require this to maintain our professional accreditation.
• Browser information — IP address, browser version
  • Why? Your browser sends this information automatically, we do not store this information.
• Cookies — login cookie
  • Why? To relieve you from needing to enter your password for every button you press on our website, we store a cookie on your computer that keeps you logged in.

Information we share

We share some of your information with third parties. Here is how that works.

• Professional information
  • Sent to accreditation organizations (e.g. American Nurses Association) to maintain our professional accreditation.
• Browser information, cookies
  • If you visit our website from an advertisement (like Google Ads, that crap on top of search results that isn’t actually search results) then Google will install a cookie on your computer. We don’t actually collect that information, Google collects it, but we pass that along to Google. This is all done as part of Google Analytics. This includes Google Analytics remarketing lists.
• Payment information
  • We send your payment information to our payment processor to collect money that you have authorized to pay us. We do not retain your payment information. Our practices are compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.
• Corporate information
  • f your account is created as a corporate account then we may share some of your information with your company’s designated credentialing manager or their delegate. Maybe it is not necessary to say “share” because in that case “you” are the company as a whole.

Access or correct your information

You can access all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain by emailing us at support@PacificMedicalTraining.com . We use this procedure to better safeguard your information. You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error.

To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.

Block ads and Google

It is unbelievable how much information Google and Facebook track you. Google will guess your age and probably your religion and political party affiliation based on your location and web searches then it allows advertisers to target you based on that. Facebook collects your private phone numbers from your friends that have you in their phone book and then makes those available to advertisers.

We advertise on Google and it is painful every time we mail them a check. We advertise because many people are searching for Pacific Medical Training but then our competitors buy ads on that term and they show up above us. So then we have to buy ads on our name to show on top of them.

You are the product. You should avoid advertisers from controlling what you see, and think for yourself. Here’s how to protect yourself:

• Stop using Google, use Duck Duck Go. Make it your default and go into settings and disable search results ads. This is huge. I don’t know why they let you disable ads.
• Delete all your browser extensions. They are spying on you.
• Install an ad blocker on your computer that is not sponsored by Google.
